The town council will consider approval of a $1.425 million settlement of a tax assessment appeal at its Sept. 28, 2010, meeting. The settlement is in favor of Crestmont Country Club for property at 750 Eagle Rock Avenue.

If approved, the settlement would bring to approximately $3.8 million in reduced revenue to the town from successful tax appeals against the town's tax base this year. Last year, the town said it paid approximately $3 million in successful tax appeals.

The settlement covers the 2007 through 2010 tax years. The settlement comes in the form of refunds as well as credits against taxes through 2015. The town will make the assessed value of the property $22 million for the 2011 tax year and limit the 2010 taxes from the property to no more than $660,000.

Here's the resolution.
